About PIERRE
Pierre Paffenhoff leads SecondMuse Capital’s direct climate venture investing practice and our Climate Innovation Venture Fund.
He joined SecondMuse after working at Fonds de solidarité, an $18 billion labor-sponsored pension fund in Québec, as an Investment Manager on the cleantech venture capital team. Prior to that, he spent about six years at Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a non-profit foundation that has invested nearly $1.4 billion in cleantech, where he worked as an Investment Lead and as the institution's national Tech Scout responsible for finding new cleantech investment opportunities in Canada. During his time at SDTC and the Fonds, he traveled throughout the country to review more than 1,500 companies, a formative experience he credits with growing an expansive climate tech network. Prior to his time as a Scout, Pierre worked as an investment analyst at Partner One Capital and as an investor relations manager at Capital Innovation.
Throughout his career, Pierre has been involved in the creation, support and development of several technology firms. He holds dual Bachelor of Business Administration degrees, from both École supérieure de commerce in Troyes, France, and Middlesex University in London, England.
He is driven by the passion of entrepreneurs, the promise of their technologies, and the solutions they bring to the climate crisis.
